GMC Illustrations
The illustrations shown in this image gallery were all rendered using Adobe Illustrator. The purpose of this gallery is two-fold. One is to show the variety of paint and color schemes that may be tastefully used with the GMC motorhomes. The other is to provide you with a look of the type of illustrations that can be done on special order. They also show two types of images. One is a side view done in proper proportion. The other is what I call "photorealistic" done in perspective. Simply click on an image to begin a slide show.
This was our first motorhome and my first illustration of a GMC. The red pinstripe was added to create character.
"Passion Royale" makes effective use of a monochromatic color scheme.
I wanted to capture a simple but more contemporary look with "Harbortown".
This scheme modifies the typical horizontal theme while adding a bit of motion.
"Casa del Sol" (House of the Sun) utilizes a warm, monochromatic color scheme.
A tribute to our musical heritage - "St. Louis Blues".
"Windjammer" is another design that goes beyond the typical pinstripe.
"Eagle Wings" is similar to a design by a company in Arkansas.
Ray Erspamer liked Eagle Wings but wanted it to fit the center kitchen Royale - "Great Lakes Eagle".
This scheme uses some of the popular colors on large coaches with a pattern adapted for the GMC - "Wind Swept".
This is also the "Wind Swept" design but on a 23-foot coach and a bolder choice of colors.
"Nostalgia: Woodie Returns" pretty well describes this design done as an "I wonder if".
Kelvin Dietz is into racing Datsun vehicles and wanted something with a modern racing pattern.
This scheme is based on a photo Frank Folkmann provided.
This design is one you either love or hate - "Gatsby's Cruiser".
David Perry's customized design features rich, bold colors and a graphic element from a century ago.
Bill Brown's tailgating GMC — Buckeyes.
Tom Whitton's "CL 260 Concept" is an example of quality work on the outside as well as the inside.
This illustration is of a GMC MotorHome that was refurbished for GM for their Heritage collection.
Created using the Santa Fe railroad's "Warbonnet" concept applied to the scheme.
Steve Ferguson refurbished this coach and kept to a simple yet impactful color scheme.
John Sharpe had Topeka Graphics paint his coach in a striking design.
This coach's paint scheme is a variantion of Bob DeKryuff's design created by designers at GM.
Pontiac used a GMC MotorHome in promoting the Firebird TransAm vehicles - this is a variant of their design.
This is one of two renderings of a coach originally called The Great Gadabout from 1974.
The scheme was developed for shows by GMC and displayed at an FMCA rally in DuQuoin.
Jay Fox, in the Calgary area, built a motorcycle trailer from two coaches. It is one of my better illustrations.
Larry and Lucy chose to update the original Coachman design with the mask around the windows.
