50th Reunion and Alumni Weekend Information

Though our 50th reunion celebration has come and gone, the challenge of collecting information, photos, etc. remains. From this page you may access downloadable files dealing with the events for Fairfield Community High School’s Class of 1965.

Important Update:
The corrected version of the Directory and Memory Book is now available. In addition to inserting information on four people, four snapshots from the senior class trip have also been added and the quality of the PDF increased. The files were updated and reloaded by 1:30 PM EST on December 16. — Byron Songer

MemoryBookCover
It’s finally here — the 62-page Class of 1965 Directory and Memory Book. And, it's available in three different ways. (1) It is available for viewing online in Flipbook format (pages showing side-by-side). A connection to the internet will be required for viewing online. (2) The Directory and Memory Book can be downloaded as a PDF though it will be displayed in single-page style. Still, it will be suitable for printing any or all pages of the document. (3) For optimum enjoyment, the entire flipbook version may be downloaded and retained on your computer for off-line viewing at any point in the future or until you delete the files (please see additional information below).

Included in the Directory and Memory Book is a listing of all who have considered themselves members of the Class of 65 regardless of other status (graduation, moving, etc.) Current photos of many classmates are included as well as select photos from the reunion events. The photo as taken by Iconik Studio is also included though it is best viewed in the flipbook version. The full text of Marti Gray’s speech at Saturday’s Alumni Banquet is also included. Of course, our veterans are listed in a separate section as well as an up-to-date listing those who have passed from this life.

Click here to view the flipbook version online. Suitable viewing on iOS and other personal devices is supported.

Click here to view/download the file in PDF format.

Click here to download the flipbook version to your computer. The compilation is contained in a single .zip file which may be decompressed after downloading (and may be done automatically depending on how your operating system is configured). Keep the file structure together as unpacked on your system. A folder entitled “ClassOf65_DirectoryMemoryBook” will be created. To launch the compilation, open the folder just created and double-click on the file named “Directory_MemoryBook.html.” By double-clicking on that file the default browser should launch allowing you to view the Directory and Memory Book in magazine style complete with page-flipping sound. In addition, the text is fully searchable, zooming in and out is also fully supported as well as printing.

After unzipping the downloaded file (and the container folder it created) you may delete the .zip file.

Download/View the Video Presentations

HodgeVideo
As those present at the reunion banquet well know, our classmate Tom Hodge lovingly assembled a video presentation as a Tribute to the Veterans from our midst. Following the reunion Tom updated the slideshow and converted it to movie format for sharing. You can download it now to view at your leisure. Yes, it will bring back memories while working with your emotions. It is 18 minutes in length and suitable for replay on iPad, computers or other devices that support Apple’s QuickTime format. To get the video presentation, click here. If you’d prefer to have the presentation on DVD, please contact Tom Hodge at thodge813@yahoo.com regarding the process and the funds to cover the expense. He has designed a beautiful label for the DVD as another way of demonstrate his respect.
